Field guide ·
Your first trip through the orbital lanes
A short field guide to controls, clean escapes, and building a better Banana Signal run.

Move with the arrow keys or A and D. Hold Shift to spend boost time on a faster drift. Space fires dual lasers, then rockets once lasers are empty. F fires rockets at any time. You begin with boost and lasers; shields and rockets drop later. On a touchscreen, use the direction buttons plus Boost, Laser, and Rocket. A connected standard gamepad uses its left stick or D-pad, A for lasers then rockets when empty, B for rockets, and a left bumper or trigger for boost.
Read ahead
Look toward incoming debris, not only at your ship. Golden bananas are worth 25 points. Boost to a banana—or catch it within a second of the dash—and the score multiplies by how far you boosted to reach it. Catch 10 bananas in a row without missing for a laser drop, then rockets, boost, and a shield every 10 more. After a shield, the next 10 loops back to lasers. One banana slipping past resets the streak. Lasers, rockets, and a shield burst are worth 10 per asteroid—less than a banana, but they add up. Staying alive also grows your score. After taking a hit, your ship briefly flashes while protected. You start with 10 seconds of boost and lasers. From sector 5, salvage drops once every 30 seconds: extra lightning boosts of 15 seconds, shields, lasers, and rockets. Same pickups stack. A shield absorbs one collision. Every new sector makes the field faster and busier.
Take a breath
Use Pause, P, or Escape at any time. The game also pauses when the browser tab is hidden. Escape exits fullscreen; the fullscreen button can do the same. Sound starts off.
Your saved best also records the sector reached during that run. If you tie your best score, the farther sector is kept. Old saved scores show a dash until a matching or better run records a sector.
