Cool Monkey Games is run by Cool Monkey Development, a Texas business. This page explains what we collect when you play, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Playing without an account
You can play without signing in. Some games save your personal best in your browser’s local storage. That data stays on your device; we never receive it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
If you create an account
An account lets you keep unlocks across devices and appear on the global top 10. We store:
- your username, which is shown publicly on score charts;
- your email address, used only to sign you in and for messages about your account;
- a password hash if you use a password (we never store the password itself);
- if you sign in with Google, Apple, or GitHub, the account identifier and email that provider shares with us;
- your game progress, unlocks, and qualifying high scores;
- session cookies that keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary and are not used for advertising or tracking.
Bug reports
If you send a bug report, we save what you type plus technical details: your browser and version, platform, language, timezone, screen size, touch support, the page you were on (without query strings), and the game version. If you are signed in, the report includes your username. A reply email is optional. Reports are stored in our database and may be emailed to the developer through Resend. We keep a hashed version of your network address to limit repeated submissions. Bug reports never read your cookies, local storage, or passwords, and never take screenshots automatically.
Optional tips
The coffee tip button links to PayPal. PayPal handles the payment and your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never see your card or bank information. Tips never change your game progress.
Services that help run the site
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes network information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Sign-in emails may be sent through Resend. If you choose Google, Apple, or GitHub sign-in, that provider’s own privacy policy also applies. If we turn on Cloudflare Web Analytics, it counts page views and performance without cookies or cross-site tracking.
Advertising
Some game information pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads never appear inside a game, on the play screen, or in fullscreen. To show and measure these ads, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to read and store information on your device, such as an advertising identifier, your IP address, browser details, and the pages you visit. Google may use this to show ads based on your interests across sites. We don’t share your account details, email address, or game progress with Google for advertising.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a Google consent message asks for your choice before personalized ads are shown, and you can change it later. Anywhere, you can turn off personalized ads atGoogle’s Ad Settingsor aboutads.info, and learn more inhow Google uses information from sites that use its services. You will still see ads, but they will be less tailored.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your account information. Apart from the advertising cookies described above, we do not share your personal information for targeted advertising. Texas residents and others with similar rights can opt out of targeted advertising using the links above or by contacting us.
Children
Cool Monkey Games is intended for people 13 and older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep account data while your account exists. You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your account and its data at any time, and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, including Texas under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, you may have further rights, and you can appeal if we decline a request.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
